A New Chapter Begins

The CCA is the first institution of its kind in Uzbekistan — a permanent centre for contemporary art, research, and community engagement in the heart of Tashkent.

LEARN MORE

The Centre for Contemporary Arts Tashkent (CCA), a flagship project led by the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation (ACDF), opens a bold new chapter for contemporary culture in Central Asia with the launch of its first-year programme and inaugural exhibition. This marks a significant milestone in a long-term vision spearheaded by ACDF Chairperson Gayane Umerova to establish a dynamic, interdisciplinary platform for cultural production and artistic exchange in Uzbekistan.

The first permanent centre for contemporary art in Uzbekistan, the CCA is a cultural meeting point for the region and a community space for the city in the heart of historic Tashkent. The Centre is housed in a revitalized 1912 industrial building - originally a diesel station and tram depot - currently being reimagined by award-winning architecture firm Studio KO.
